SSCS Was There: NACS 2025

The basic appeal of NACS remains constant over the years, enduring even as the industry surrounding it changes rapidly and unpredictably.

NACS, as most anyone reading this likely knows, took place last week—October 15–17 in Chicago, to be exact. Our sales team was there, spreading the word about SSCS products and services while providing demos on new and existing software.

As usual, this year’s NACS also provided a chance for our team—when they got a chance to squeeze in the time—to get a glimpse of what’s happening now in the retail petroleum industry. The scope of technology suppliers alone is massive. You can spend a significant portion of the day amongst not only back office providers like us, but the booths of POS suppliers, digital engagement and loyalty platforms, security and loss prevention experts, and fueling technologists.

Besides being the place to get your finger on the pulse of the industry, NACS is good for a lot of other reasons, too, many of them staying constant over the years. In fact, instead of recapping those kinds of traditional NACS benefits, let’s just let our blog coverage over the years[1] do the talking. As for the 2025 show and expo, this year’s was themed, “Level Up!” NACS organizers developed the slogan to reflect the evolving demands and opportunities within the retail petroleum industry.

Jeff Lenard, NACS vice president of media and strategic communications, framed “Level Up” as a challenge and an invitation — to grow, to innovate, and to lead with purpose in a rapidly changing retail landscape.[2] Merchandising “correctly” or “accurately” was described as a large part of that, which—by the way—just happens to be a specialty of the Computerized Daily Book back office.

Speaking of SSCS software, this time around our sales team got to display our offerings to visitors in an all new spacious booth design. Not only does it make for a comfortable meeting place, but those looking for the SSCS brand can more easily spot it on the floor thanks to the tower display integrated into as part of the modular construction of the kiosk.

Our team enjoyed, as they usually do, the sense of camaraderie that runs through the annual event, especially at our booth where we always enjoy catching up with old customers and getting acquainted with new ones. Thanks to everyone that made this such a special experience, and we’ll see you all next year in Las Vegas!
