The Scope of NACS Gets Wider Every Year

Attending the 2014 NACS Show in Las Vegas was a pleasure for SSCS, not only because the booth was packed with interested prospects—which always makes us feel good—but because so many of our current users took the time out to visit us. It was a lot of fun; a reunion of sorts.

The crowd created a sense of community in the booth and underscored our relationship-based approach to business. There’s no better way to impress a prospective customer than to have a high-performing current user speak to the value our solutions provide and their satisfaction with our complete approach to customer care. These people are truly our partners. It’s not an exaggeration to say they are our greatest resource.

As usual the NACS show floor was a veritable C-store wonderland, featuring everything from waterslides to meat straws and everything in-between. The spread of technology throughout every nook and cranny of the industry—perhaps best symbolized by the definitive, impossible-to-ignore presence of tech giant NCR—continues to accelerate, and given its rapid growth will likely prove an adaptation challenge to operators everywhere. Other trends we noticed: the growth of third-party loyalty program providers and the unmistakable presence of professionals from every corner of the globe, indicating that there is plenty of opportunity and growth in the industry, both in the long- and short-term.

To accompany this blog we’ve included a few photos to give those that didn’t attend a sense of what it was like to be at NACS 2014, which if we haven’t mentioned already, was a tremendously busy, well-attended show. If you were there, hopefully it will rekindle a few fond remembrances. See you next year!
