CDB’s Lula Commerce Interface Simplifies Online Ordering for C-Stores
Capture the profit from third party channels without juggling formats and procedures.
Over the past half decade, the consumer’s ability to order food and other goods from their personal device has transformed the retail landscape. Consumers flat out like ordering stuff on their phone and having it delivered to their home—including convenience store merchandise.
To help our Computerized Daily Book (CDB) customers realize this increased revenue potential, SSCS worked with Lula Commerce to come up with a solution. It’s an interface that allows consumers to order merchandise from their favorite c-store using their favorite third-party delivery service; it doesn’t even matter which ordering app they use.
The sale is recorded and inventory adjusted in CDB back office like it would if it were rung up at the in-store POS. As always, the CDB back office does the heavy lifting of processing the data for the store’s books and tracking the items’ sales and inventory history. The A/R process is streamlined, too, as the CDB user only has to deal with one A/R account, “Lula Commerce,” instead of maintaining multiple vendor accounts.
The interface is simple to use. A CDB user sets up an automated file upload of the data they want to make available to the consumer through Lula Commerce. Lula Commerce then stages the inventory and makes it available through online apps. The consumer uses the apps as they always use them, only with a c-store’s inventory now available.
In addition, the Lula Commerce Interface has its own easy-to-read display that CDB users can access, in case they want to look at the status of the items they have uploaded and staged to make available to delivery app consumers. This is useful, for example, to see the “pending” status of ordered items that have been paid for through a device, but not yet picked up by the delivery person.
The Lula Commerce interface opens access to market channels that can make a significant contribution to a convenience store’s bottom line, while simplifying the life of the operator. If you are a CDB user that wishes to know more about the added value of this interface, or a convenience store user that is looking for a simpler, yet more powerful solution to maximize profit from third-party opportunities, give us a call at (800) 972-7727 and we can talk about it.
